High School Preparation Project
Rural Brain Drain
In
rural China, experienced teachers are leaving
under-developed areas, causing disparity in
education resources. Rural students hence have less
opportunity for personal development, including the
higher education.
Wind Ride high school preparation project sets out
to recover the brain drain by building an online
platform to allow instructors from Shanghai to
connect with rural students through course provision
and in-person instruction.
Remote Teaching
Supported by a team of 10 instructors, Wind Ride HP
offers remote teaching through Tencent Meeting in
four subjects:
Mathematics
English
Physics
Chemistry
Meetings are organized on a weekly basis, as per the
arrangements of target schools.
Onsite Instruction
Wind
Ride team travels annually to rural schools for
around a week to provide onsite instructions and to
foster communication.
In addition to 4 subjects covered in remote
teaching, we offer four units in rural geography.
Easy-Teach
Regular remote learning often requires local
schools’ administrative participation.
In cooperation with Merit-All OL, Easy-Teach brings
in a new phase of the HP project. Instructors are
now increasingly reliant on the online course
platform to develop and re-use teaching materials
and monitor student progress. Students can directly
access online courses and self-regulate their
learning with Easy-Teach.
Our Impact
Since its initiation in 2022, Wind Ride HP has cooperated with 2 schools in Yunnan, covered 250 students through remote teaching, 100 students through onsite instruction. A total of 40 courses were created in HP’s four subjects.
Build a better Qianli
As
the initiating projects, Wind Ride HP contributed to
Qianli’s teaching practice and trials of innovative
approach. It is also the first project to adopt
Easy-Teach as a mode of instruction.
Through the talents and expertise of its members, HP
manifested its value to “inspire minds with minds.”
Moving Forward
In the near future, HP will keep on expanding its high school preparation courseware and cooperate with more students in rural area. More features, including multi-media modules will also be available on Easy-Teach.
