Financial Stress

The majority of rural students come from low-income households. Supporting older siblings’ higher education or elderly family members falling ill are major sources of extremely low living standards.

The aim of South Vision Culture, Business, Art project is provide financial assistance through artifact business that draw inspiration from the local culture.

First-Gen Fund

A scholarship fund supporting students who are the first in their family to consider higher education or have family members currently in university. The fund provides 3000RMB annually and requires recipients to engage in a creative writing program and contribute to the Rural China journal.

Donators in Contact must contribute at least 2000 RMB, while maintaining ongoing, supportive communication with the beneficiary. Free Donators can give any amount, with no minimum, and receive an annual thank-you note.

Rural China Journal

A publication that features essays from scholarship recipients and participants of the creative writing program, focusing on traditional Chinese culture and rural life. Donors to the First-Gen Fund automatically receive a complimentary subscription to the Rural China Journal. Additionally, all authors receive payment upon acceptance of their essay.

Cultural Artifacts

We sell cultural artifacts, including canvas bags and postcards, that draw inspiration from local culture to finance our project.

Our Impact

To date, the project has successfully published four editions of the Rural China journal, showcasing 60 essays. It has raised 15000 RMB through cultural artifacts, donation, and pocket money of project members, directly benefiting five students under the First-Gen Fund and 30 students through essay submissions of the Rural China journal.

Build a better Qianli

South Vision BA contributes to Qianli by fundraising for its operation and maintenance, including covering the cost of Easy-Teach and production cost of Rural China.

Additionally, South Vision BA constitutes the financial support component of Qianli’s rural education support model.

Moving Forward

The project aims to expand its reach, benefiting more students and raising additional funds to support its initiatives. Continued promotion and support of the Rural China journal and creative cultural products are also planned to ensure sustainable funding and engagement.
